PERSONAL STUDIO Independent developer · Erhu → Code EST. 2026

TWO STRINGS, MANY SCREENS.

One bow, two strings, eight screens in resonance. I practiced expression on the erhu's two strings; today I keep creating in the pixels of websites and apps. This is the entry point to everything I ship as an independent developer.

FROM THE
BOW TO THE
CURSOR.

From the bow to the cursor, the same craft.

I practiced erhu for years. Two strings, one bow, and you must make rich expression within extreme constraint: tone, vibrato, position shifts, breath. Later I realized writing code and building products is the same thing: finding expression within constraints, stacking soul into the details.

二弦 / Erhu Developer
CHAPTER 01

The practice of two strings

The erhu has only two strings, yet it must evoke armies and birdsong. It taught me: constraint is not the enemy, it is the source of style.

CHAPTER 02

The resonance of eight screens

Taking my performance to eight video platforms, I needed a data center. Unable to find a tool I liked, I built one myself, and Erhu Studio was born.

CHAPTER 03

The transition of paper and ink

Building Pip, I brought editorial typography into a resume app. Paper texture, editorial whitespace, AI collaboration, making the job hunt feel dignified.

CHAPTER 04

Native and restrained

TechResume is my renewed inquiry into craft: rejecting WebView, a self-built layout engine, offline-first. Like making a fine instrument, every part must be touched by hand.

[ 03 / CRAFT ] The details I obsess over

FOUR THINGS
I OBSESS OVER.

01

Typography as score

Size, tracking, leading are like notes and rests on a score. Whitespace is not emptiness, it is breath.

02

Motion with rhythm

Every animation must answer why it moves. Easing is bowing, rhythm is breath, never showing off.

03

Performance is feel

Cold start, scroll frame rate, offline-ready. A millisecond off in feel is a thousand miles off in character.

04

The whole flow, solo

Design, frontend, backend, Android, copy, scoring. Independent development isn't laziness, it's full responsibility for the work.

[ 04 / CONTACT ]

LET'S BUILD SOMETHING TOGETHER.

The strings still ring, the screens stay lit. If you're building something interesting, or looking for an independent developer who understands craft, I'd love to hear from you.
